Simon White

Member of Land Management and Finance Committees

I was born in Hoo at the start of the 1970’s and enjoyed my childhood growing up in the villages of Cliffe and Cliffe Woods.

Upon leaving education I worked for 2 years for a solicitor’s in Chatham before joining the Civil Service in 1990 where I have enjoyed a varied career. I am currently a Visiting Officer with the Department of Work and Pensions.

I met Mary, my wife, whilst at the Hundred of Hoo Secondary School and enjoyed early adult life travelling across South East Asia, Sri Lanka and Australia. We settled in 1996 and bought our house in Charles Drive, Cuxton and married the following year. I became a father in 2001 and have two children both of whom attended Beehive play group, the village schools and the Scouting movement.

In 2007 I joined the Cuxton & Halling Scout Group and I am currently the Beaver Scout Leader for Wood Colony, an assistant Scout & Explorer Leader and also a member of the Group Executive committee. Last September I was appointed a member of the District Team to shape the future of Scouting across Medway Towns.
