CPRE Kent (The Countryside Charity) are in need of a Medway District Group.
There is currently no Medway District Group and they are very keen to enlist volunteers who can act as their eyes and ears in the area.
If you are interested in helping CPRE Kent stay up to date on Medway development plans and to help protect your local countryside and green spaces, then please take a look at the introduction letter below:
“Kent, the countryside charity exists to protect and promote a beautiful and thriving countryside full of nature for future generations to come. We actively campaign against inappropriate and damaging development and act to mitigate as much as possible where we cannot save.
CPRE Kent has active District Groups across Kent made up of dedicated volunteers who like us, care about our countryside and the nature it sustains. Each of our groups act as our eyes and ears across Kent, monitoring planning applications, working alongside and alerting the Kent Branch to act on any applications deemed inappropriate or which could potentially damage the flora and fauna.
With the full support of the Kent Branch team, our District Groups may take part in public consultations, monitor weekly planning applications and maintain and nurture working relations with parish councils and local authorities. Members meet to discuss together but also come together quarterly with other District Groups at the main Kent Branch to give updates and feedback.
The Kent Branch will offer training and guidance including professional advice from qualified individuals, so you are never alone.
Members of our District Groups do not necessarily need to be a paid-up members of CPRE Kent, but they should align with CPRE Kent’s ethos and there must not be any conflict of interest or activity that could bring the charity into disrepute or cause CPRE Kent any reputational damage.
For more information on the requirements, duties and responsibilities, an updated Constitution and Governance Document for District Groups will be available in due course.
In the meantime, for any further information, an informal chat and/or to express an interest, please contact Vicky Ellis on vicky.ellis@cprekent.org.uk and/or Andrea Griffiths on

With kind regards
CPRE Kent”
