Following recent instances of cold calling in the village, Cuxton Parish Council contacted Kent Police’s Fraud department. We have arranged for the Fraud Protect Officer of Kent Police to come and give a talk to residents. Cuxton Social Club has generously allowed use of the club hall for this purpose and the talk will be held on Wednesday 25th October 2023, starting at 7pm.
In view of the officer’s expertise, the talk will focus on how residents can protect themselves from becoming a victim of scams. The Kent Police Fraud representative will be unable to comment on local policing or other issues not connected to fraud or scams, as these do not fall within their remit.
We are sure it will be an informative session and we invite residents to join us and participate in the event.
In the meantime, residents can obtain a Trading Standards ‘Stop Cold Calling’ information pack from Cuxton library.
