M20 Moveable Barrier – Project update October closures

M20 Moveable Barrier: project update

 

I am writing inform you of some further overnight closures required, as well as to let you know that, barring any circumstances outside of our control, we plan to remove all of the 24-hour lane closures and speed restrictions on the morning of 23rd October. The remainder of the works will then be carried out under overnight lane closures and are due to be completed in December.

 

Slip road closures

 

We need the following slip road closures for our cross-carriage way ducting work to allow us to safely protect the communication cables for the CCTV systems throughout the Brock Footprint.

 

The London-bound M20 junction 9 exit slip road will be closed overnight from 8:00pm and 6:00am on the following dates:

 

  • 8:00pm Wednesday 11 October until 6:00am Thursday 12 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Thursday 12 October until 6:00am Friday 13 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Friday 13 October until 6:00am Saturday 14 October 2023

 

Diversion route: A clearly signed diversion route will be in place directing traffic to continue to junction 8 where they can turn around and exit the M20 at junction 9 on the coastbound side.

 

The coastbound M20 junction 8 exit slip road will be closed from:

 

  • 8:00pm Monday 23 October until 6:00am Tuesday 24 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Tuesday 24 October until 6:00am Wednesday 25 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Wednesday 25 October until 6:00am Thursday 26 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Thursday 26 October until 6:00am Friday 27 October 2023

 

Diversion route: Traffic will be directed to continue to junction 9 where they can turn around and exit the M20 at junction 8 on the coastbound side.

 

Full London-bound overnight closures

 

The following London-bound closures will enable us to remove the existing traffic management and allow us to finish off the lane realignments in this location, as well as installing the new cat’s eyes throughout.

 

The M20 London-bound between junctions 10a and 7 will be closed overnight from:

 

  • 8:00pm Monday 16 October until 6:00am Tuesday 17 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Tuesday 17 October until 6:00am Wednesday 18 October 2023

 

Diversion route: A clearly signed diversion route will be in place directing traffic to head London-bound along the A20, A2, M2, A229, then back onto the M20.

 

The M20 London-bound between junctions 10a and 8 will be closed overnight from:

 

  • 8:00pm Wednesday 18 October until 6:00am Thursday 19 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Thursday 19 October until 6:00am Friday 20 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Friday 20 October until 6:00am Saturday 21 October 2023

 

Diversion route: A clearly signed diversion route will be in place directing traffic to head London-bound along the A20, A2, M2, A229, then back onto the M20.

 

Full coastbound overnight closures

 

The following coastbound closures will enable us to remove the existing traffic management.

 

The M20 coastbound between junctions 7 and 9 will be closed overnight from:

 

  • 8:00pm Saturday 21 October until 6:00am Sunday 21 October 2023
  • 8:00pm Sunday 21 October until 6:00am Monday 22 October 2023

 

Diversion route: A clearly signed diversion route will be in place directing traffic to head coastbound along the A229, M2, A2, A20, then back onto the M20.
